Getting Started

Installing the EDMC Plugin

Installing the PalCon Locker plugin only takes a few minutes.

Requirements

  • Elite Dangerous
  • EDMarketConnector (EDMC)
  • An internet connection

Installation

  1. Download the latest PalCon Locker plugin.
  2. Open EDMC.
  3. Select File → Settings → Plugins.
  4. Click Open Plugin Folder.
  5. Copy the PalCon Locker plugin into the folder.
  6. Restart EDMC.

First Upload

Launch Elite Dangerous and perform an activity such as:

  • Jump to another system
  • Complete a mission
  • Buy or sell commodities
  • Redeem combat bonds

Your activity should appear in the Locker within a few seconds.

Updating the Plugin

Keeping the plugin updated ensures you receive the latest features, fixes and upload improvements.

Update Steps

  1. Close EDMC.
  2. Download the latest version from GitHub.
  3. Open your EDMC plugin folder.
  4. Replace the existing PalCon Locker plugin folder with the new one.
  5. Restart EDMC.

After Updating

  • Check the plugin icon returns to green.
  • Generate a new Journal event, such as a system jump or market transaction.
  • Check your activity appears in the Locker.
Plugin Icon Meanings

The plugin status icon indicates its current state.

  • 🟢 Connected
    Everything is working normally. The plugin is connected to the Locker and ready to upload activity.
  • 🟠 Uploading
    The plugin is currently sending activity to the Locker. This usually only lasts a second or two.
  • 🔴 Error
    An upload failed. Check your internet connection and ensure the Locker is online before trying again.
  • Disabled
    The plugin is not active or EDMC has not yet connected to Elite Dangerous.

If the icon remains red after several attempts, please submit a support ticket.

Activity Problems

No Activity Showing

If your activity is not appearing in the Locker, work through these checks first.

Things to Check

  • Make sure EDMarketConnector (EDMC) is open.
  • Make sure the PalCon Locker plugin is enabled.
  • Check that the plugin icon is green.
  • Confirm EDMC is using the correct Commander.
  • Generate a new Journal event by jumping systems, completing a mission, trading, or redeeming bonds.
  • Allow a few seconds for the upload to reach the Locker.

Still Not Showing?

Please submit a support ticket and include your Commander name, plugin version and what activity you expected to see.

Mission Tracking

The Locker can record different stages of a mission, but accepted and completed missions are separate events.

How It Works

  • Mission Accepted records when you accept a mission.
  • Mission Completed records when you successfully hand the mission in.
  • Mission Failed records when a mission fails.
  • Mission Abandoned records when you abandon a mission.

Important

A mission only contributes as completed once the completion Journal event has uploaded. Accepting a mission does not count as completing it.

Combat Bonds Not Counting

Combat bonds usually appear once they have been redeemed, not when they are first earned in a Conflict Zone.

Things to Check

  • Redeem the combat bonds at a station or carrier.
  • Make sure EDMC is open when you redeem them.
  • If contributing to a contract, check the contract is still Active.
  • Check that the bonds were earned for the correct faction where required.

Still Missing?

Open a support ticket with the Commander name, system, faction and approximate value of the bonds.

Trade Not Appearing

Trade events are uploaded when you buy or sell through the Commodity Market.

Things to Check

  • Confirm the market transaction completed successfully.
  • Keep EDMC open while buying or selling.
  • Check the plugin icon is not red.
  • Allow a few seconds for the upload to process.

Note

Fleet Carrier transfers are not always the same as standard market trades. If a contract requires market trade, make sure the activity matches the contract rules.

Exploration Data Missing

Exploration contribution is normally recorded when exploration data is sold.

What Counts

  • Selling exploration data at Universal Cartographics.
  • Selling organic data where supported by the Locker.
  • Relevant exploration events uploaded by the plugin.

What Does Not Immediately Count

  • Scanning a system without selling the data.
  • Discovering bodies before handing in exploration data.

If you have sold data and it has not appeared after a few minutes, please submit a support ticket.

Locker Website

Cannot Log In

The Locker uses Discord login and Discord roles for permissions.

Things to Try

  • Log out of the Locker completely.
  • Log back in using Discord.
  • Make sure you are using the correct Discord account.
  • If your Discord roles recently changed, log out and back in so permissions refresh.

Still Locked Out?

Contact Council or submit a support ticket with your Discord name.

Data Looks Old

The Locker updates when fresh data is received from Commander uploads, EDDN traffic or supported update tools.

Why Data Can Become Stale

  • No Commander has recently visited or uploaded data for that system.
  • EDDN has not recently received a useful update for that system.
  • The system has not changed since the last stored update.

What You Can Do

  • Visit the system with EDMC running.
  • Check the system page for the last updated time.
  • Ask Council if a manual refresh is needed.
Contracts Not Updating

Contracts only update when the uploaded activity matches the contract rules.

Things to Check

  • Confirm the contract is Active.
  • Check whether auto tracking is enabled.
  • Make sure your activity matches the contract type.
  • For combat contracts, check whether bonds need to be redeemed first.
  • For trade contracts, make sure the correct commodity and direction are being used.
  • For exploration contracts, make sure the data has been sold, not just scanned.

If the activity appears on your Commander activity page but not the contract, please raise a support ticket.

Commander Not Appearing

A Commander may not appear until the Locker has received activity from them.

First Steps

  • Install or update the PalCon Locker plugin.
  • Open EDMC and check the plugin is connected.
  • Generate a new in-game event such as a system jump or mission completion.
  • Wait a few seconds and check the Activity page again.

Still Missing?

Submit a ticket with your Commander name and the approximate time you generated the activity.

How It Updates

Events appear automatically as uploads are received. If a Commander has no recent uploads, they may not appear near the top of the list.

How Contracts Work

Contracts allow PalCon to coordinate group objectives and measure contribution towards a shared goal.

Common Contract Types

  • Combat - combat bonds or bounty activity.
  • Trade - hauling, buying or selling specific commodities.
  • Exploration - selling exploration or organic data.
  • Powerplay - supported Powerplay activity.
  • Construction - station or colony build support where configured.

Contribution

Your qualifying activity can be counted automatically when it matches the contract rules. Some contracts may require specific systems, factions, commodities or activity types.

Ops Dashboard Explained

The Ops dashboard highlights systems that may need attention from PalCon Commanders.

What Ops Can Show

  • Active and pending conflicts.
  • Influence changes after the tick.
  • Systems where PalCon control is close.
  • Expansion and retreat risks.
  • Systems requiring action.

How to Use It

Use Ops as a daily priority board. It is designed to help focus effort where it will have the biggest impact.

What Data Does the Locker Store?

The Locker stores gameplay information needed for PalCon operations and contribution tracking.

The Locker Does Not Store

  • Frontier account passwords
  • Payment details
  • Personal files

How quickly do uploads appear?

Usually within a few seconds, provided EDMC is running and the plugin is connected.

Does the plugin work while docked?

Yes. The plugin can upload supported Journal events while docked or flying.

Does it upload continuously?

No. Uploads happen when Elite Dangerous writes a new Journal event.

Can I use multiple PCs?

Yes. Just make sure each PC is running the latest version of the PalCon Locker plugin.

What if I am still stuck?
